About

Animal Hoarding: Obsessive/compulsive disorder (O.C.D.) [relating to animal hoarding] is when an individual amasses a large number of animals; fails to provide the animals’ most basic physical and social needs. (“Ontario SPCA – Cruelty Glossary.” OSPCA. N.p., n.d. Web. 4 May 2011.)

We are the Legacy Guard, “Reaching out to those unheard.” We need to stop animal cruelty, specifically the hoarding of domestic animals. This not only hurts the animals physically, but mentally as well. That’s why we are here. We are here to shine light on the solutions to such maltreatment of these animals, and to tell the world of their existence.

Even though animal cruelty is prohibited in all the states. “([features of animal cruelty are] failure to provide adequate food and water, failure to provide necessary veterinary care to treat a disease or injury, failure to provide a sanitary environment)” (Animal Hoarding (HARC). Tufts University. AllWebCo Design and Hosting. Web. 04 May 2011. .) Only two states (Hawaii and Illinois) mention hoarding as an act of cruelty.
